The defendant claimed that the signature on the check to the Funeral Home was signed by their grandmother. (Which was a bit difficult, since it was for her own funeral and it was dated one day after her death.) The lawyer was just being certain he would win the case... he did. A law firm in East Texas discovered someone in their law firm was stealing uncashed checks and cashing them. They had narrowed the list down to two suspects.
