They were known as the Bali Hai Boys. Long story short � they ended up staying, founding a chain of resorts � Bali Hai Hotels, inventing the overwater bungalow used by many top resorts and raising families with beautiful local Tahitian �vahines�. One of these fabled men was Hugh Kelley and you now have the opportunity to rent his family beachouse located on the north shore of the island of Moorea � just a 10 minute flight or 25 minute fast-ferry from the main island of Tahiti. So idyllic is the location of this house, that it was during a stay here that singer Jimmy Buffet was inspired to pen the song One Particular Harbor! Swaying coconut palms, views of the turquoise lagoon, private beach, scent of tropical flowers and the whisper of the waves on the distant reef�really paradise, with all of the modern conveniences that we cannot live without. This one-of-a-kind beach house is within walking distance of the village of Maharepa, where you will find banks, French Bakery, grocery store and local shops for souvenir shopping. You can also arrange private shopping for Tahitian Black Pearls and jewelry with one of Hugh�s daughters, Miri, who will bring her wares right to the house for your perusal; just call her to arrange an appointment. Local excursions, diving, fishing, private island picnics, stingray feeding or almost any other tropical activity you can imagine are easily arranged. The world class Moorea Pearl Resort and Spa is just a short stroll down the road for spa treatments, an intimate gourmet dinner or Polynesian Dance Show. The layout of the house is ideal for the perfect tropical getaway for a family, 2 couples or a boys or girls only getaway with 2 master suites separated by the main living, dining and kitchen areas for privacy.
