Newegg Quietly Drops Akamai, Plus a Pile of Parked Domains

Out of roughly 11,083 changes spotted across 10.6 million tracked domains in the last 24 hours, one big-name mover stands out, alongside a couple of patterns worth knowing if you're chasing domain drops or parking scams.

Newegg steps off Akamai

newegg.com swapped its network attribution from Akamai (AS16625) to AS8075, with its hosting classification flipping from "Akamai (cdn)" to "unknown" in our records. That's a real infrastructure signal — Newegg was riding Akamai's edge network, and something behind the scenes just changed. Whether it's a full migration or a partial re-route, worth keeping an eye on if you depend on their endpoints.

The "expired" and "parked" shuffle

A few domains told very plain stories about themselves today. anjaliflooring.com lost its mail records and Solidhosting nameservers, picked up ns1.dns-expired.com / ns2.dns-expired.com, and added a TXT record that just says: "This domain is expired at Hostinger!" — about as unambiguous as DNS gets.

Meanwhile a cluster of unrelated-looking domains — grabflowy.com, progmine.online, and www.yoursocia.com — all landed on the same pair of nameservers, ns1.lander.d.parity.domains and ns2.lander.d.parity.domains, and all shifted onto AS30058. Different domains, same destination: a classic sign of names getting swept into a parking/lander operation after their real hosting lapsed.

Domains going up for sale

24mind.com and avtalia.com picked up near-identical DNS makeovers: new nameservers at ns1.domain.group / ns2.domain.group, a fresh batch of CAA records (Buypass, HARICA, Let's Encrypt, Sectigo), and a TXT record reading afternic=afternic-verification-.... That verification string is how Afternic (GoDaddy's domain marketplace) proves ownership before listing a domain for sale — so both of these are now effectively wearing a "for sale" sign, DNS-visible to anyone watching.

Cloudflare in, Cloudflare out

Cloudflare activity went both directions today. www.nixendor.it moved from a direct AS31898 setup onto Cloudflare's network (AS13335), picking up the "cdn" classification. Going the other way, www.unionneeded.com left Cloudflare for GitHub Pages, adding a CNAME to wikiworkersunited.github.io and a full set of CAA entries for DigiCert, Let's Encrypt, and Sectigo (including wildcard issuance). And scanbarcode.net dropped Cloudflare's nameservers entirely in favor of launch1.spaceship.net / launch2.spaceship.net, moving to AS22612 and adding a Spaceship-flavored SPF record.

Small moves, but each one is a domain owner rewriting where trust, traffic, and TLS issuance flow from — worth a glance if any of these names cross your desk.
